37th International Young Physicists’ Tournament (10th – 17th July 2024) στη Βουδαπέστη.

“I had the opportunity to participate in the 37th International Young Physicists’ Tournament (10th – 17th July 2024) that took place in Budapest, Hungary, as a member of Team Greece, upon selection. After months of preparation and regular team meetings of trying to solve some of the competition’s challenging research problems, it was time to defend our solutions in science fights.

This was a truly unique experience, as I was able to delve deeper into areas of physics I discovered through the IB, whilst integrating debate and public speaking. Moreover, I had the chance to combine my passions for physics and debate by supporting my team’s theoretical and experimental work . I enjoyed meeting and communicating with students from across the globe that share my love for physics, while exploring their cultures. An integral part of the competition that I particularly liked was also exploring Hungary and its tradition”.

I would like to thank our team leaders and, most importantly, the Hellenic Physical Society (EEF) and namely Mr Apostolos Michaloudis for their contribution throughout this experience and continuous support both before and during the competition. It was truly an honour and pleasure to be representing Greece in the 37th IYPT, and contributing towards reaching our country’s highest position in the global ranking throughout its participation in the competition.
